WORCESTER, M.A. - The Worcester Red Sox (29-16) had an early lead, but the Rochester Red Wings (17-28) scored in every inning between the third and seventh on the way to a 13-5 win on Thursday night at Frontier Field.

The WooSox jumped on top first, scoring in two of the first three innings. Chris Hermann began the second by lining a double to right, and after a strikeout, Jonathan Arauz got Worcester on the board with an RBI single to left. A frame later, Jarren Duran singled then scampered all the way home on a Yairo Muñoz triple, Muñoz' fourth extra base hit in his last six games.

Down 2-0, the Red Wings busted out with four runs in the bottom of the third, beginning with back-to-back homers by Luis Garcia and Adrian Sanchez. Those were the first two runs WooSox starter Stephen Gonsalves had allowed in more than nine innings of work, and Rochester kept the outburst rolling with a single and a walk. Then, with two on, Yadiel Hernandez and Jake Noll came through with consecutive RBI singles to put the Red Wings on top 4-2.

Worcester answered the five-hit, four-run inning by loading the bases with one out. Michael Gettys came through with a sac-fly to left, but Rochester's Josh Rogers got a strikeout to hold the threat to WooSox one run.

The Red Wings supported their starter with three runs over the next two innings: a Sanchez run-scoring single in the fourth and a Noll two-run homer in the fifth. Through five, Rochester had 11 hits and led 7-3. Ten of the 11 hits came against Gonsalves, who went 4.1 innings, allowing six earned runs and three long balls.

Worcester got one back in the sixth, when Jeter Downs dashed home on a wild pitch. But once again, the Red Wings offense answered, this time with a two-run double from Daniel Palka to make it 9-4. The deficit was cut to four a half inning later, when Chris Herrmann grounded out to score Duran.

Rochester delivered its second four-run frame of the night in the seventh behind Garcia's second homer, a two-run blast, and a single that brought home two more from Yadiel Hernandez to extend the lead to 13-5. Altogether, the Red Wings put up 20 hits.

The loss was the WooSox' second of the season when they scored first-entering the night, Worcester was 22-1 when it plated the game's opening run.
