Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Reagan Rome has been traded by the Manitoba Moose to the Wilke-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL for future considerations. Rome (6'2"/210 lbs) (25), a fifth year pro from Nesbitt, Manitoba, has been on loan to the Royals from Manitoba for much of this season, playing in twenty nine games for Reading during which he picked up eleven assists and 109 penalty minutes. This marked the fourth consecutive season for Rome in Reading. Last year, when he served as the team's captain, Rome scored six goals and assisted on twenty-four others, while picking up 77 penalty minutes, in 49 games for the Royals. Rome had an assist and two penalty minutes in seven games with the Moose this year. It is expected that Rome will join the Penguins immediately.

The Royals return to action on Friday night (7:05 pm) at the Sovereign Center against the Johnstown Chiefs, when Athletic Trainer Brian Grogesky will become the third person in team history inducted into the Reading Eagle Wall of Honor. The first 2000 fans that night will receive a Brian Grogesky trading card courtesy of the Reading Eagle. Royals' game night broadcasts can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am (and on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com), beginning thirty minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available for $6.00 per game through the B2 Networks, which can be accessed through the Royals' website.
