Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that left wing Dany Roussin ("DAN knee ROO sin") has been recalled by the Monarchs. Roussin (6'2"/200) (22), a second year pro from Quebec City, Quebec, has scored six goals and assisted on sixteen others in forty-two games with the Royals this year. Roussin, the Kings second round pick in 2005, has scored two goals and assisted on two others in nine games with Manchester this season.

The Los Angeles Kings also announced today that former Royal, Shay Stephenson, has been recalled from Manchester to the Kings under emergency conditions. Stephenson scored nineteen goals and assisted on twenty-two others in sixty-two games with Reading last year. Stephenson has played forty games in Manchester this year, scoring seven goals and assisting on seven others in those games. Stephenson joins former Royal teammates, Barry Brust and Yutaka Fukufuji, in getting a call to the NHL this year. Another player from last year's Royals, Rich Peverley, signed an NHL contract with the Nashville Predators earlier this season. Also, former Royal, Jeff Finger, made his NHL debut with the Colorado Avalanche on February 20, 2007, and picked up his first NHL point with an assist (and was selected as the game's second star) in Colorado's 3-2 win over Columbus on Tuesday night.

The Royals return to action on Friday night (7:05 pm) at the Sovereign Center against the Johnstown Chiefs, when Athletic Trainer Brian Grogesky will become the third person in team history inducted into the Reading Eagle Wall of Honor. The first 2000 fans that night will receive a Brian Grogesky trading card courtesy of the Reading Eagle. Royals' game night broadcasts can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am (and on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com), beginning thirty minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available for $6.00 per game through the B2 Networks, which can be accessed through the Royals' website.
