Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - ECHL All-Star forward Julian Talbot has been returned from loan by the Providence Bruins, while defenseman Stephen Wood has been recalled by Alaska's AHL affiliate in Peoria and loaned to Bridgeport in exchange for forward Peter Ferraro.

Talbot was loaned to Providence after Alaska's 4-2 loss in Las Vegas February 13 and made an immediate impact with the Bruins, scoring the game-winning goal in a 3-2 decision over Springfield in his AHL debut February 16. He assisted on two other goals and finished +4 in his seven games with Providence. Talbot, who turns 22 in three weeks, still ranks third among ECHL rookies with 40 points on 16 goals and 24 assists. He returned to practice with the Aces Thursday and will be in the lineup tomorrow night when Alaska opens a three-game series with Bakersfield (32-13-8) at 7:15 p.m.

Wood has played 25 games in three separate stints with the Aces this season, scoring five of his eight goals on the power play and contributing six assists. He also has two assists in 16 games for the Rivermen. His first game as a member of the Sound Tigers could be as soon as tomorrow night against Wilkes/Barre. Alaska retains Wood's ECHL rights through the 2007 Kelly Cup playoffs. The Aces also plan to activate defenseman Steven Later from the injured reserve list for tomorrow night's clash with the Condors. Later has not been in the lineup since suffering a concussion in a 6-1 romp over Phoenix February 10.

Alaska and Bakersfield (32-13-8) play again Saturday at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday at 5:05 p.m. Live coverage of all three contests begins 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off on the flagship home of Alaska pro hockey, KFQD 750 AM. The Aces (39-13-3) became the first ECHL team to clinch a spot in the 2007 Kelly Cup playoffs last weekend and lead the National Conference by six points over Las Vegas, with the Condors three points further behind. Tickets for tomorrow's game are now available at participating Fred Meyer locations, by calling 258-ACES, or logging onto www.alaskaaces.com.
