Rapids Players Shine on the Global Stage During March International Window

March was a busy month for Rapids players--not only in the state of Colorado--but worldwide. During the month of March, the Rapids saw nine players across the first team, second team, and Rapids Academy represent their respective national teams across various competitions.

First team players who received call-ups included Lucas Herrington for the Australia Senior Men's National Team, Donavan Phillip for the Saint Lucia Men's National Team, Darren Yapi and Noah Cobb for the United States U-21 Men's National Team, and Bryce Jamison for the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team.

Rapids 2 had a pair of players receive calls to their national teams as well, with Jabari De Coteau being named to the Grenada Senior Men's National Team and Zack Campagnolo for the U.S. U-19 Men's National Team.

On the Academy front, Colorado continued to have young talent feature at the youth international level. Defender Aiden Appiah continued his progress, receiving his second call-up to the U.S. U-15 Boy's National Team for their domestic training camp. Additionally, midfielder Alex Hernandez received his second call-up within the Mexican Youth National Team system with the U-16 group for their appearance in the Mondial Football Montaigu tournament in France.

While with their nations, these Rapids products didn't just make appearances, they stood out across the board and showcased their talents on the international stage.

Lucas Herrington

Herrington, 18, is coming off the first Senior National Team call-up of his young career with Australia. The defender, who is in his first season with the Rapids and had only featured for his country's youth national teams prior, had finally gotten the nod to represent Australia at the Senior National Team level.

The Brisbane, Queensland, native joined the Socceroos for their pair of friendlies on home soil against Cameroon and Curaçao last week.

Against Cameroon, Herrington officially made his Senior National Team debut, starting at center back and logging a full 90 minutes as he helped his country post a 2-0 clean sheet victory. Following the win, the defender was voted by Australian fans as the "Player of the Match" for his role on the back line. Herrington finished the match with 94 percent pass accuracy, 100 percent of aerial duels won, and 74 total touches on the ball.

Following his performance against Cameroon, Herrington saw the starting lineup in Australia's second and final friendly of the international window against Curaçao. After playing the entire first half at center back, Herrington was subbed out at halftime to conclude his first stint with the Socceroos.

Donavan Phillip

Phillip, 21, joins Herrington as the second Rapids player to receive their first call-up to their nation's Senior National Team during this past international window. The 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy winner was selected to represent Saint Lucia for their appearance in the 2026 FIFA Series in Azerbaijan.

In the country's one and only match in the competition, Phillip started and logged the first international goal of his career. Following his goal in the 52nd minute, the striker finished the match and logged a full 90 minutes in his international debut.

The 2025 MLS SuperDraft pick has featured mainly for Rapids 2 since signing his first team contract, having made four appearances and logged two goals.

Darren Yapi

Yapi, 21, who is playing at a top level in MLS this year, received his second call-up in the past four months to the U-21 group. The call-up comes following one of the best stretches of matches in his career, having logged four goal contributions in his last three MLS appearances.

The Homegrown forward was joined by fellow Rapids defender Noah Cobb on the roster for the squad's training camp and pair of friendlies against Japan and South Korea.

In the group's matchup against Japan, Yapi started and logged a goal as he helped his side earn a 2-0 victory.

Noah Cobb

Cobb, 20, is continuing his stretch of youth international call-ups with the United States. The defender has received consistent recognition internationally over the past year, including an appearance in the FIFA U-20 World Cup last summer where he posted a goal as the group advanced to the Quarterfinals.

The defender participated in the same camp and freindlies as Yapi under U-21 Head Coach Russell Payne.

Cobb started twice as he anchored the back line that only conceded one goal across both matches. The defender and his side posted a clean sheet in their first contest against Japan.

Bryce Jamison

Jamison, 20, is no stranger to the U.S. youth international system, but received his first call to Head Coach Rob Valentino's U-20 side during this international break. The forward's last international call came back in May of 2025, when he was chosen to represent the U.S. U-19 group. Jamison made his U.S. Youth National Team debut in 2023 and represented his country at the FIFA U-17 World Cup later that year, appearing in all four of the team's matches.

The group participated in an international training camp with an additional friendly against Argentina's U-20 side.

Jamison started in the match against Argentina as the U.S. went on to dominate in a 3-0 victory.

Jabari De Coteau

De Coteau, 20, was another player in the Rapids' system to receive their first ever call-up to their nation's Senior Men's National Team. The defender joined Grenada for their pair of international friendlies in the FIFA World Series.

The 2026 MLS SuperDraft made his international debut in short order, immediately receiving the starting spot at right back for Grenada's first match against Rwanda. De Coteau was then given the starting spot yet again in his nation's second match of the window against Kenya.

Zack Campagnolo

Campagnolo, 19, received yet another call-up within the U.S. youth ranks, this time to the U-19 side for their recent training camp.

While the goalkeeper didn't feature in any matches, he continued his development on the international level as he has for the past two years. Campagnolo has featured at several U.S. youth national team levels, recording appearances with the U-15s, U-16s, U-17s, U-18s, and U-19s.

Aiden Appiah

Appiah, 15, received his second call-up with the U.S. U-15s after earning multiple call-ups to the Under-14 Boys' Talent Identification Program. He joined Head Coach Ross Brady for the side's domestic training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The defender has been with the Rapids organization for multiple years, having come up through the Rapids Futures Program starting at the U-12 level.

Alex Hernandez

Hernandez, 16, has continued his progression with Rapids Academy this year, leading to his second call-up with the Mexican Youth National Team system. After his original call-up with the U-15 group, Hernandez was selected for the U-16 side for their appearance in the Mondial Football Montaigu in France.

The midfielder has been within the Rapids system for over three years, having joined the Colorado Rapids Futures Program in 2022 from local youth side ALBION SC Denver.
