Colorado Rapids News Release
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - The Colorado Rapids will host Union Omaha in the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park on Tuesday, April 14, U.S. Soccer announced today. Kickoff in Colorado is set for 7:30 p.m. MT with coverage for the match available on CBS Sports Network, Paramount+, Altitude Radio, ColoradoRapids.com, and the Colorado Rapids App.
The Rapids are participating in the domestic tournament for the first time since 2023.
Colorado will be matched up against USL League One side Union Omaha for the first time in these clubs' history. Omaha, founded in 2019, played their first ever season in 2020 and have been one of the league's top sides since. Over the club's first five seasons, they have finished top of the league three separate times with two league titles.
This matchup was drawn in the same group as Sporting Kansas City and Colorado Springs Switchbacks, who will also face off in the Round of 32. If the Rapids were to advance, the club would face off against the winner of that Kansas City and Colorado Springs contest.
The Round of 32, which features the 16 victors from this week's Second Round action facing off against 16 Major League Soccer (Div. I) clubs, will take place April 14-15. The group of advancing teams includes nine from the USL Championship (Div. II), six from USL League One (Div. III) and one from MLS NEXT Pro (Div. III).
