The Black & Gold (4-0-1) sits atop the MLS Western Conference and Supporters' Shield standings after a record start to the season that has seen the team earn a clean sheet in each of its league matches. The unbeaten opening run marks the first time in MLS history that a team has not conceded a goal in its first five regular season games. Additionally, LAFC has not lost in Concacaf Champions Cup play either (2-0-2) and has advanced to the quarterfinal stage of the knockout competition, which begins next Tuesday, April 7, against Mexico's Cruz Azul at BMO Stadium.

LAFC has never lost to Orlando in four all-time meetings, going 3-0-1 while garnering a +7 goal differential (13GF, 6GA). The Black & Gold defeated Orlando in the only previous match between the two teams in Los Angeles, earning a 4-1 win in the club's inaugural 2018 season.
