JOYOUS JANUARY: Since the 2007-08 season, January has been a stellar month for San Antonio.
They are 29-20-2-5 during the first month of the year in the past four seasons.
GETTING OFFENSIVE: Five Rampage defensemen contributed a point each to San Antonio's 4-3 win over the Oklahoma City Barons on Saturday night. Tyson Strachan potted a goal while Michael Caruso, Mike Vernace, Keith Seabrook, and Colby Robak all registered one assist.
MAKING A GOOD IMPRESSION: Last weekend left wing Evan Barlow totaled a goal and two assists in two games. Since being signed to a professional try-out on Nov. 17, Barlow has scored four goals to go along with seven assists in 18 contests with the Rampage.
CARUSO CRANKS IT UP: Defenseman Michael Caruso tallied his first three points of the season last week, posting a point in three of San Antonio's four games. He scored his first goal of the season on Dec. 26 at Houston, notched an assist on Dec. 27 at Texas, and added a helper on Dec. 31 in Oklahoma City.
ICE CHIPS: David Marshall - Forward
Rampage forward David Marshall scored the game-winning goal for San Antonio in their 4-3 victory over the AHL-leading Oklahoma City Barons on Saturday night. Marshall's third period tally put the Rampage up 4-2, which proved crucial when the Barons crept to within one goal late in the contest.
He now has five goals and two assists in 22 games with San Antonio this season.
Marshall, a Buffalo, Minn. native, has tallied 24 points in 89 career AHL games. The 26-year-old veteran played his col- lege hockey at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, where he scored 73 goals to go along with 54 assists from 2005 to 2009.
