CHARLOTTE, NC (January 3, 2012) -- San Antonio Rampage netminder Dov Grumet-Morris stopped all 33 shots he faced to lift the Rampage to a 2-0 victory over the Charlotte Checkers at Time Warner Cable Arena on Tuesday night. Grumet-Morris earned his second shutout of the season and Mark Cullen added a goal and an assist as the Rampage improve to 16-15-2-0 on the season.

San Antonio forward Greg Rallo scored the game's first goal, a power-play tally, at 19:41 of the opening period. Center Bracken Kearns started the play by feeding Cullen down low to the left of Checkers backstop Mike Murphy. Cullen, who had been returned to the Rampage earlier in the day, feathered a pass across the crease and Rallo one-timed the puck into the left side of the goal to give San Antonio a 1-0 lead.

The Rampage added to their lead 11:34 into the third to make the count 2-0. From behind the Checkers net, left wing Evgenii Dadonov found Cullen at the left side of the goal. Dadonov sent Cullen a pass that Cullen buried for his fourth goal of the season and his ninth point in his last four AHL games. Kearns received the secondary assist on the play for his fifth multi-point game on the season.

Grumet-Morris registered his fifth win of the 2011-12 campaign while Murphy turned aside 30 of 32 Rampage attempts in the Charlotte loss.

The Rampage and Checkers face off again tomorrow night for another 6 p.m. (CST) contest at Time Warner Cable Arena.
