
Blackhawks Agree to Terms with Andrew Shaw

Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms with forward and 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft selection Andrew Shaw on a three-year contract.
Shaw, 20, ranks third on the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs with 12 goals and third with 21 points in 33 games in his professional debut. Selected by the Blackhawks in the fifth round (139th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, he also ranks second on the club with 80 penalty minutes, while his 12 markers are tied for sixth among AHL rookies, and his 21 points share 11th.
A native of Belleville, Ontario, Shaw posted a career-high 54 points (22G, 32A) and a +17 plus/minus rating in 66 regular-season tilts last year with the Owen Sound Attack, and shared 11th in the Ontario Hockey League with 135 penalty minutes. He also ranked third on the club with 10 goals, fourth with 17 points and accrued a league-high 53 penalty minutes in 20 postseason contests while helping the Attack to the 2011 OHL Championship, and led all players at the 2011 Memorial Cup with seven points (2G, 5A) in four tilts. Following the 2010-11 campaign, Shaw was honored as the OHL's Hardest Working Player Of The Year.

Game time is 1:05 p.m. The IceHogs return home for the first time in more than two weeks for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. matinee game to take on the Stars for the second and final time at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 1,500 kids 14 and under will pick up an IceHogs Drawstring Bag courtesy of Frito Lay.
