San Antonio Rampage News Release
CASINO EVENT-Feb. 1: The entire Rampage team will host a Casino Night for Rampage season ticket holders tomorrow night from 7-9 p.m. at Pat O'Briens (located on the Riverwalk). Exclusive to season ticket holders, fans will be able to play cards and roll the dice with members from the Rampage team.
$1 DRINK NIGHT: Every Friday fans can enjoy a KISS ROCKS $1 DRINK NIGHT featuring $1 draft beer and $1 fountain soda.
AND THE CROWD GOES WILD: The Rampage played in front of a record-setting 14,339 fans on Friday Jan. 28 during the team's first-ever "Pink in the Rink Night". The Rampage shattered their previous attendance record of 10, 265 set on Feb. 28, 2009.
RODEO ROAD TRIPPING: The Rampage will spend the majority of February on the roadas dirt replaces the ice at the AT&T Center for the 2011 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. The nine-game, 22-day road trip will begin on Feb. 4 and conclude on Feb. 25 with three back-to-back series scheduled. The 10, 710 mile journey will include stops in Cleveland, Oklahoma City, Manitoba, Syracuse, Hamilton and Toronto. The Rampage recorded their best Rodeo road trip record during the 2007-08 season tallying a 7-3-1-3 record and 18 points.
IN THE BOOKS: Rampage right wing Brett MacLean tied yet another franchise record as he registered two assists in his last contest giving him 78 career Rampage assists to tieformer player David Spina. This season MacLean has set the franchise record in games played, goals, points and power-play goals.
HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR: Matt Beaudoin and Brett MacLean have been se- lected to the Western Conference Team to represent the Rampage at the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic in Hershey, PA. on Jan. 31. This is the second All-Star appearance for Mac-Lean and it is also the first time in franchise history that the Rampage have had two players from their roster selected to participate in the annual mid-season classic. The game will be broadcasted on Fox Sports Southwest at 6 p.m. (CDT).Defenseman Jonas Ahnelov scored his first goal of the season on Wed. Jan. 26 as he fired a shot from behind the Rampage net to send the puck the length of the ice into an empty net during the team's 4-2 victory over the Abbotsford Heat.
The Huddinge, Sweden native is now in his third season with San Antonio. He played in 43 games during the 2008-09 season scor- ing one goal and adding six assists for seven points while tallying one assist during the 2009-10 season after appearing in 11 con- tests.
Ahnelov was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the third round (88th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Friday, Feb. 4 & Saturday, Feb. 5 @ Lake Erie Monsters Quicken Loans Arena, 6:30 p.m. & 12:00 p.m. The Rampage will kick off their annual rodeo road trip with back-to- back contests at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio to face the Monsters. San Antonio looks to sweep Lake Erie as they hold a 2-0-0-0 advantage in the series. The Monsters played at the AT&T Center on Oct. 17 and Oct. 20 where the Rampage posted a 3-2
shootout win in the first contest and a 4-2 victory in the following game.
