
Senators Recall Colin Greening and Robin Lehner from Binghamton

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 31, 2011) - The Ottawa Senators today recalled forward Colin Greening and goaltender Robin Lehner from the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators . Greening is recalled to the National Hockey League for the first time on an emergency basis to replace Jarkko Ruutu, while Lehner is being recalled for a fourth time this season on an emergency basis to replace Pascal Leclaire.
Greening, 24, has recorded 12 goals, 20 assists and 34 penalty minutes and is a +10 in 48 games during his first professional season with the B-Sens. His 32 points have him tied with teammate Bobby Butler and one other player for third in AHL rookie scoring this season.
A native of St. John's, N.L., Greening played four seasons with the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Cornell University Big Red. The 6-2, 211-pound centre appeared in each of the school's 137 games, recording 118 points by scoring 55 goals and adding 63 assists. Following his senior year, Greening was selected the ECAC hockey-student athlete of the year and was recognized with the Lowe's Senior CLASS award, which is presented annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in NCAA men's division I hockey. Greening was Ottawa's seventh-round pick (204th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Lehner, 19, made his first NHL start and became the youngest goaltender to start a game for the Senators, stopping 20 shots in Ottawa's 6-4 win over the New York Islanders on Jan. 13.In three NHL games this season, Lehner has stopped 30 of the 34 shots he has faced and has posted a 2.55 goals-against-average.
A native of Goteborg, Sweden, Lehner has a record of 6-6-2-2 with a 2.65 goals-against-average and .913 save percentage in 16 games with the B-Sens this season. He earned his first professional shutout, making 33 saves in a 5-0 home win over the Syracuse Crunch on Nov. 7 and most recently made 43 saves in Binghamton's 2-1 win over Syracuse on Jan. 29.
The Senators next see action on Tuesday when they travel to New Jersey to face the Devils. Ottawa returns home to face the Detroit Red Wings at Scotiabank Place on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
