Bobby Butler Named MVP as East Downs West in 2011 AHL All-Star Classic

HERSHEY, P.A. - The best and brightest members of the American Hockey League descended on Chocolate Town this weekend for the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Capital BlueCross. It was the Eastern Conference All-Stars who shone the brightest, defeating the Western Conference 11-8.

Rookie forward Bobby Butler recorded one goal and three assists for the East, and was honored as the 2011 AHL All-Star MVP.

In 44 games this season with the B-Sens Butler has recorded 21 goals, 11 assists and added 35 penalty minutes. The Marlborough, Mass. native ranks third overall among AHL rookies in scoring, first overall in goals.

Corey Locke made his fifth AHL All-Star appearance, recording two assists and remains the all-time leading scorer in AHL All-Star history with 11 points in five appearances.

In 43 games with the B-Sens Locke has recorded 16 goals, 44 assists added 28 penalty minutes. Locke's 60 points rank him first overall in scoring among his AHL peers.

The B-Sens return to action this Friday, Feb. 4 as they travel to Norfolk to face the Admirals at 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen live on 680 WINR-AM or 1430 WENE-AM beginning 30 minutes before the game for Countdown to Face Off with Grady Whittenburg, voice of the B-Sens.
