San Antonio Rampage News Release

DES MOINES, Iowa (November 11, 2008) - Rampage forward Chad Kolarik scored in his second consecutive game but the Rampage could not hold off the Iowa Chops with a 5-1 loss at Wells Fargo Arena Tuesday night. Iowa had five different players score goals while the AHL's sixth ranked scorer, forward Bobby Ryan, added to his point total with two assists as the Rampage fall to a 2-10-0-1 record.

Iowa led 1-0 after the first period on defenseman Adrian Veideman's goal at the 10:54 mark. The Chops added two more goals in the first five minutes of the second frame including center Andrew Ebbett's unassisted goal at 5:09 to give Iowa a 3-0 lead and quell the Rampage second period momentum.

Just over a minute into the final session, left wing Drew Miller gave the Chops a 4-0 edge. San Antonio avoided the shutout when team assist leader David Schlemko found forward Chad Kolarik with less than four minutes to play to cut the lead to 4-1. The Chops tacked on one more tally with an empty netter and kept San Antonio winless in their seventh consecutive game.

The Rampage continued their scoreless power play streak going 0-6 and 0 for their last 36 overall. The Chops went 1-6 on the man advantage. It was the third straight game San Antonio has given up a power-play goal.

Rampage goalie Al Montoya returned to the net stopping 15 of 19, while former Rampage goalie David LeNeveu turned aside 26 of 27 to get the win. It was LeNeveu's second win of the season in as many tries against his former club, winning 2-1 in San Antonio October 26th.

In that weekend series, San Antonio won the first game 5-1 before losing the following night. San Antonio and Iowa will take a day off and hit the ice again Thursday, November 13th in Des Moines.
