Last Week's Games
Friday, November 7th - Quad City Flames 2 at Iowa Chops 6
The Iowa Chops earned a 6-2 win in their first visit to the i wireless Center on Friday night. Six different Chops scored in the win as Quad City fell to 3-8-1-0 on the season. The Flames offense was provided by Jamie Lundmark and Carsen Germyn. The Chops took a 1-0 lead at 13:14 of the first period when Andrew Ebbett netted his sixth goal of the year. The tally broke a string of six consecutive games that the Flames scored the game's first goal. Quad City tied the game with 58 seconds left in the first as Jamie Lundmark beat Iowa's J.P. Levasseur on a one-timer following a feed from Kyle Greentree. The Flames took the lead for the first time at 4:14 of the second period when Carsen Germyn scored during a Flames power-play. Germyn scored by re-directing an Anders Eriksson pass into the Iowa net. The Chops answered back 2:27 later with a power-play goal of their own. Bobby Ryan scored his fifth power-play goal of the year following a cross-ice feed from Joakim Lindstrom. The power-play tally was followed by a shorthanded goal scored by Iowa's Josh Green at 12:37 of the middle period. Green forced a Flames turnover then skated in on a breakaway before beating Matt Keetley for his third goal of the season. The Chops capped the victory with three unanswered third period goals. Joakim Lindstrom scored on the power-play following a feed from Brian Salcido at 6:23 of the third frame. Drew Miller scored his fifth goal of the year five minutes later before Ajay Baines capped the scoring with a breakaway goal to set the final at 6-2.
Saturday, November 8th- Quad City Flames 5 at San Antonio Rampage 1
A road trip to Texas proved to be exactly what the Flames needed on Saturday night. Quad City secured a 5-1 win thanks largely to a trio of power-play tallies. Kyle Greentree, David Van der Gulik and Ryan Wilson scored on the man advantage while Warren Peters and Kris Chucko added even strength tallies. Quad City took a 1-0 lead by scoring the only goal of the opening frame. Kyle Greentree converted on the power play following a cross-ice feed from defenseman Anders Eriksson. Carsen Germyn earned the secondary assist on the tally. David Van der Gulik stretched the lead to 2-0 when he scored on the power play at 15:27 of the middle frame. Van der Gulik tipped home a Jamie Lundmark shot for his third goal of the season. With time dwindling in the second period, Warren Peters netted his sixth goal of the season to give Quad City a three-goal cushion. Peters charged to the net to convert on the rebound from a Carsen Germyn shot. The goal came with just 12 seconds left in the second period and gave Quad City a 3-0 lead. The Rampage converted on a Flames turnover at 1:15 of the third period to ruin Matt Keetley's bid for a shutout. Jeff Hoggan snapped a shot past the Flames netminder after forcing a turnover. The Hoggan tally briefly energized the Rampage in their comeback bid, but the Flames were able to insure the win with a pair of late goals. Ryan Wilson scored on a power play following a feed from behind the San Antonio net by Adam Cracknell. Kris Chucko followed with his fifth goal of the season on a slapshot from the left wing circle. The Chucko marker set the final at 5-1 in favor of the Flames.
Sunday, November 9th- Quad City Flames 4 at San Antonio Rampage 2
The Flames capped a trip to Texas with a second consecutive win on Sunday night. Kyle Greentree recorded the first Flames hat trick of the season in the 4-2 win over San Antonio. Leland Irving earned his first professional win in the game by stopping 17 Rampage shots. The Flames jumped out to a 2-0 lead on first period goals by Kyle Greentree and Brett Palin. Greentree scored a transition goal during a Flames power play at 15:00 of the first frame. Carsen Germyn found Jamie Lundmark streaking into the San Antonio zone before Lundmark dished off to Greentree. The power forward went to his backhand to beat San Antonio's Josh Tordjman and give the Flames a 1-0 edge. Palin scored his second goal of the season two minutes later at even strength. The rearguard sent a shot from the top of the right wing circle and into the Rampage net to open up at 2-0 lead. Greentree struck again on a power play at 11:37 of the middle frame to give Quad City a 3-0 edge. Greentree jammed home a rebound following a Kris Chucko shot. Jamie Lundmark earned the secondary assist on the tally. Greentree's second goal stood up as the only marker of the middle period, and the Flames carried a 3-0 lead into the second intermission. San Antonio closed the gap with a pair of third period goals. Dylan Reese scored on a point shot at 3:14 of the closing period. Adam Keefe added his first goal of the season 8:40 later after converting on a rebound chance. With the Rampage closing to within a goal, San Antonio coach Greg Ireland pulled his netminder in favor of the sixth attacker. Quad City's Kyle Greentree responded by scoring into the empty net to complete the first Flames hat trick of 2008-09.
