Rampage trading tickets for peanut butter

SAN ANTONIO – Feb. 25, 2005 – The San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League and the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) are encouraging fans to leave the jelly at home and bring their peanut butter to the SBC Center.

March is National Peanut Butter Month, and as an added bonus for Rampage fans, for every jar of peanut butter brought to the Food Bank or the SBC Center, fans will receive a voucher for a Rampage game that includes a buy one ticket, get one ticket free to any Rampage game Sunday - Thursday for the rest of the season.

The event is part of a year long partnership between the Rampage and the SAFB to assist undernourished area individuals and increase awareness of Food Stamps.

The SAFB acquires and distributes nutritious foods and related products to charitable organizations that provide for needy individuals and families. The SAFB works with more than 320 human service agencies to help feed the hungry in Southwest Texas. This past year, the SAFB distributed 25 million pounds of food, which equaled 19 million meals. Bexar County has been identified as having one of the highest rates in the nation of families eligible for Food Stamps, and Texas is the 2nd most food insecure state in the nation.
