Crunch Reassign Sloan to Dayton

Syracuse, NY (February 25, 2005) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have reassigned defenseman Tyler Sloan to Dayton (ECHL) and have released defenseman Matt Libby from his professional try-out contract.

Sloan, 23, appeared in 14 games with Syracuse this season, recording two assists and 18 penalty minutes. In 26 games with Dayton this season, Sloan has recorded 3 goals, 6 assists and 49 penalty minutes. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Sloan was originally signed as a free agent by Columbus on September 24, 2000.

Libby, 26, has appeared in seven games with the Crunch this season, recording eight penalty minutes. In 41 games with the Trenton Titans (ECHL) this season, Libby has recorded 3 goals, 19 assists and 40 penalty minutes. A native of Saco, Maine, Libby appeared in 99 career American Hockey League games with Bridgeport, Syracuse, Saint John and Portland, recording 2 goals, 16 assists and 53 penalty minutes.

The Crunch hosts Albany on Friday, March 4. Game time is 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 5, Edmonton visits Syracuse for a 7:30 p.m. face-off.
