SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 10, 2014) - The San Antonio Rampage got a goal and an assist from Mark Mancari and tallies from Bobby Butler and Garrett Wilson to take a 3-2 win over the Iowa Wild in front of 6,694 at the AT&T Center.

After a scoreless first period, the Rampage got on the board first. A Vincent Trocheck shot was left on the crease by Johan Gustafsson, and Garrett Wilson was there to bury the rebound, giving San Antonio a 1-0 lead.

Iowa answered quickly as Michael Keranen slipped the puck past Dan Ellis to knot the game at one. The Wild took a 2-1 lead midway through the second period, as Jonathon Blum's shot from the high slot beat Ellis.

With time running out in the second period, the Rampage knotted the game at two when Bobby Butler collected Mark Mancari's pass from the high slot and put it past Gustafsson's right skate with just eight seconds left in the frame. Mancari broke the tie with 10:21 remaining in the third. John McFarland backhanded a pass to Mancari, whose blast from the right circle slipped behind Gustaffson's left pad.

The Rampage finished 1-for-9 on the power play while holding the Wild to two power play goals on eight opportunities with the extra man.

KEY STAT

The Rampage outshot the Wild 39-25 in the game, including a 12-6 margin in the first period and a 17-7 margin in the second.

MVP

Mark Mancari scored his first regular season goal in a Rampage uniform, a tally that also happened to be the game-winner. Mancari also added an assist - it was his pass that found its way to Bobby Butler for San Antonio's second marker of the game.

Dan Ellis was unstoppable in the third period, making 12 saves on all 12 shots he faced. The Rampage faced a 6-on-3 shorthanded situation in the final two minutes, and Ellis shined, turning away numerous shots to preserve the win.

QUOTABLE

"Scott Allen is the guy in charge of the penalty killing and Dan Ellis came out with some big stops. Scott put a plan in place on the bench on how he wanted the guys to kill it and they killed it to perfection. All the credit goes to Ellis and the guys who were out there killing it."

- Coach Tom Rowe
