
Amerks Recall Sundher from Elmira; Sign Shamanski to PTO

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has recalled forward Kevin Sundher from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. In addition, the Amerks have signed defenseman Steven Shamanski to a professional tryout contract.
Sundher, 22, recorded 20 points (6+14) and 25 penalty minutes in 60 games for the Amerks last season. In 98 career AHL games with Rochester, the 6-foot, 185-pound native of Surrey, British Columbia, has registered 33 points (10+23) and 51 penalty minutes. Sundher was originally selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (75th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Shamanski, 24, appeared in 39 games with Providence College last season, recording 16 points (6+10) and 24 penalty minutes. He also made his professional debut at the end of last year, playing in three games with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL. In four seasons of college hockey at Providence, the 6-foot, 190-pound native of Carberry, Manitoba, registered 36 points (11+25) and 56 penalty minutes in 111 games.
