Rampage sign defenseman to A.T.O.

SAN ANTONIO - Apr. 8, 2005 - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the club has signed defenseman Martin Tuma from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) to an amateur tryout contract.

Tuma, 19, was the Florida Panthers eighth choice (5th round, 162nd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. In 61 games this season, the 6-foot-4, 216-pound blueliner had a defensemen-leading 10 goals and 13 assists with 107 penalty minutes. He also played for the Czech Republic and won a bronze medal at the 2005 World Junior Hockey Championships in North Dakota.

At the same time, the club released defenseman Daniel Jacob from his ATO. Jacob appeared in one game with the Rampage.
