
Ducks blank Houston 3-0 behind Cassivi

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Frederic Cassivi made 25 saves as the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks blanked the Houston Aeros, 3-0, Friday at Cincinnati Gardens.
Joffrey Lupul, Chris Kunitz and Casey Hankinson scored for the Ducks, who moved into a tie with Houston for third place in the West Division at 85 points with five games left to play.
Stanislav Chistov and Kurtis Foster each had two assists for Cincinnati, which improved to 20-5-1-01 in it last 26 home games.
Cassivi stopped six shots in the first period, eight shots in the second period and 11 more in the third en route to his eighth shutout of the season.
Mike Smith finished with 36 saves in the losing effort for the Aeros, who lost for just the second time in their last seven games.
The Ducks play Cleveland Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at Cincinnati Gardens.
