Lock Monsters clinch playoff spot with win over Providence

Lowell, MA ...- The Lowell Lock Monsters clinched a playoff berth in the 2004-05 Calder Cup playoffs with a 3-1 win over the Providence Bruins on Friday night.

The win, Lowell's first in Providence since March 27th, 2001, gave Lowell a six point edge over the Providence Bruins in the Atlantic Division standings, with six games remaining in the regular season. Lowell returns to the Calder Cup playoffs for the first time since the 2001-02 season.

With opponents yet to be determined, Round 1, Game 3 of the Division Semi-Finals will take place at the Tsongas Arena either Saturday, April 23rd or Sunday, April 24th. Game 4 is slated for Tuesday, April 26th. Game 6, if necessary, will be held at the Tsongas Arena on Saturday, April 30th. Individual tickets for the Division Semi-Finals will go on sale at the Tsongas Arena Box office on Monday, April 18th.
