Senators sign Charlotte defenseman

BINGHAMTON – The Binghamton Senators announced today the signing off Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) defenseman Regan Darby to a 25-game professional try-out contract (PTO).

The 24-year-old native of Estevan, Saskatchewan has played in 59 East Coast Hockey League games this season with the Las Vegas Wranglers, Augusta Lynx and most recently the Charlotte Checkers, ECHL affiliate to the Binghamton Senators.

He has tallied nine points (two goals, seven assists) and 250 penalty minutes this season.

Darby was a fourth-round (90th overall) draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in a total of 73 American Hockey League games with the Manitoba Moose and Utah Grizzlies recording two points (0 goals, 2 assists) and 279 penalty minutes.

Darby will wear jersey number 7 for the Senators.
