Rampage Sign Berube to PTO, Release Huddy

SAN ANTONIO (January 24, 2011) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed defenseman Mike Berube to a professional try-out (PTO). In addition, the Rampage have released center Ryan Huddy from his PTO signed on Jan. 17, 2011.

Berube, 22, joins the Rampage from the Allen Americans (CHL) where he has posted 13 assists in 35 games this season. Last season, Berube competed in 66 regular season games for the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) tallying three goals and eight assists for 11 points. In addition, he appeared in four games with Hartford (AHL).

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Berube has skated in 317 career WHL games totaling 15 goals and 63 assists split between five seasons with the Vancouver Giants, Red Deer Rebels and the Prince George Cougars.

Huddy, 27, appeared in one game for the Rampage against the Rockford IceHogs on January 17. He returns to the Las Vegas Wranglers, San Antonio's ECHL affiliate, where he leads the team in scoring with 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists) in 34 games.
