San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage (16-16-7-0) opened a nine-game home stand with a 3-0 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals (24-14-2-0) in front of 6,486 at the AT&T Center on Friday night. Roman Will finished with 31 saves on 34 shots, but the Rampage failed to find the back of the net on 19 shots, getting shut out for the first time this season.
After a scoreless first period, the Admirals got on the board in the second, as Vladislav Kamenev took a stretch pass from Taylor Aronson and scored on the break.
The Rampage were outshot 13-8 in the stanza and weathered a storm of penalties in the second half of the frame, including a 5-on-3 for nearly two minutes, and entered the second intermission trailing by one.
Milwaukee extended their lead to two goals midway through the final stanza. Colton Sissons collected a centering pass from Kamenev and burying the puck to make it 2-0. Adam Payerl's insurance goal at the 17:27 mark secured the 3-0 win for the Ads. San Antonio was outshot 34-19 and finished 0-for-5 on the power play while holding Milwaukee's seventh-ranked power-play unit to just one goal on eight opportunities with the man advantage.
Notes Friday's contest kicked off a nine-game home stand for the Rampage, which will be the third-longest home stand in franchise history. San Antonio had an 11-game home stand in the 2007-08 season and played 10 straight contests at the AT&T Center during the 2005-06 season.
Lineup Notes Troy Bourke moved up to the second line, playing alongside Michael Schumacher and Colin Smith. Patrick Bordeleau played on the third line with Nick Drazenovic and Trevor Cheek. Roman Will started in net.
Up Next The Rampage wrap up their weekend series against the Admirals on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center. Individual and season tickets are available and can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at sarampage.com.
