
Rampage in Midst of 12-Game, Nine-City, 29-Day, 13,500-Mile Road Trip

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2005: SAN ANTONIO 4 - CLEVELAND 3
Joel Kwiatkowski scored two early goals in the first period and later added an assist on Josh Olson's third period game-winner as the Rampage held on in Cleveland 4-3.
Kwiatkowski's first goal came via the power play and was set up by Lukas Krajicek and Ryan Jardine at 5:04. At 15:41, Kwiatkowski struck again for his first two-goal game of the season.
After Cleveland socred twice, Stephen Weiss broke a 2-2 tie with an unassisted power- play goal at 16:10 in the second.
Travis Scott turned away 31 of 34 in his 14th win of the year.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2005: SAN ANTONIO 3 - MANITOBA 2 (SO)
The Rampage came back from a 1-0 deficit when Greg Jacina tied the game at one at 13:13 in the first period, just eight seconds into the team's first power-play. Lukas Krajicek and Ryan Jardine assisted on the goal as the Rampage would extend their win streak to three games with at 3-2 win over Manitoba.
Stephen Weiss broke the tie at 4:35 into the third with help from Jacina Luke Curtin.
After a Rampage holding penalty with 72 seconds to play, the Moose pulled their goalie and played five-on-four until they tied it at two with 1.5 seconds to play.
After a scoreless overtime, Olson notched the game-winner on the second Rampage attempt and Kolnik used the backhand shot to finish the shootout and give San Antonio the win.
Scott was 26-28 on the night in 65 minutes and came up clutch in the shootout, denying all four Moose attempts.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2005: MANITOBA 5 - SAN ANTONIO 1
After their first three-game winning streak of the season, the San Antonio Rampage came up on the short end of a 5-1 score. Juraj Kolnik scored the lone goal for San Antonio to tie the game at one in the first period, but Manitoba took advantage of Rampage penalties to put the game away by scoring three power-play goals.
Kolnik's goal was assisted by Joel Kwiatkowski and Stephen Weiss just 29 seconds into the team's first power-play at 9:40 in the first. Weiss extended his point streak to three consecutive games, while Kwiatkowski notched his forth point in his last three games.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT
The Rampage began a 12-game, nine-city, 29-day road trip in Cincinnati on Jan. 29 due to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Currently, San Antonio is 3-2-0-0 during the trip after going 2-1-0-0 this week. In 2002-03, the Rampage were 7-4-1 on the February trip, and went 4-8-0 in 2003-04.
The Rampage notched their first three-game winning streak of the season, Jan. 30 - Feb. 4. The streak included two shootout wins.
BOUWMEESTER SELECTED FOR ALL-STAR GAME
Rampage defenseman Jay Bouwmeester will play for Team Canada during the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Game on Monday, February 14 in Manchester, NH.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Defenseman - Joel Kwiatkowski
Kwiatkowski led the Rampage in scoring with two goals and two assists last week. He has also climbed into fifth in the AHL for defensemen in goals (nine) and 11th in points (26). His two-goal performance in Cleveland (Feb. 1) was highlighted by adding a game- winning assist to Josh Olson.
