San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (December 15, 2009) - The San Antonio Rampage, the top affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes, will host their 5th Annual Teddy Bear Toss this Friday when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins at the AT&T Center for a 7 p.m. matchup.
Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped stuffed animal to throw onto the ice when the Rampage score their first goal. The teddy bears will be donated to the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program. Last year more than 1,000 bears were thrown on the ice and donated to Toys for Tots and Christus Santa Rosa Hospital.
This Friday, the first 1,000 fans through the door will receive a teddy bear to throw on the ice courtesy of H-E-B. Kids will also have a chance to meet Santa Claus and the Build-A-Bear Workshop mascot, Bearemy.
Leading up to the annual Teddy Bear Toss, Rampage players will be delivering teddy bears, donated by H-E-B, to patients at the Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital downtown campus on Thursday.
The Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital (CSRCH) serves more than 150,000 children each year. CSRCH is a 200-plus bed facility and is the only academic Children's hospital in San Antonio, partnering with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio while collaborating with private pediatricians to provide comprehensive pediatric services at one location since 1959.
The Toys-for-Tots mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community and to send a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
This Friday is also a KISS Rocks $1 Drink Night in which fans can get dollar draft beer and fountain sodas at every Friday Rampage home game. Tickets start at just $10. For more information or to purchase tickets call 210-444-5554 or visit sarampage.com.
