GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today that defenseman Danny Syvret (SIHV-reht) has been recalled by the Flyers. Syvret will be available to play for Philadelphia tonight as they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at Mellon Arena.

Syvret, 24, has been red hot for the Phantoms since being assigned by the Flyers on November 27th. The Millgrove, Ontario native has eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) in nine games for Adirondack, including scoring last second game-winning goals on each of the previous two Sundays; he scored with 1.6 seconds left in overtime to beat Springfield on December 6th and then lit the lamp with 0.1 seconds remaining in the third period to stun the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on December 13th.

Syvret made the Flyers opening night roster out of training camp, appearing in 13 NHL games this season and recording two assists. He has played in 267 career AHL games and has 126 points (20 goals, 106 assists) and 143 penalty minutes. Syvret was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 3rd round (81st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and was acquired by Philadelphia on June 2, 2008 in a trade with the Oilers for forward Ryan Potulny. He has played in 41 career NHL games with Edmonton and Philadelphia, registering three assists and 20 penalty minutes.

Adirondack is currently preparing to host the Hamilton Bulldogs for the first time this season on Friday, December 18th for a 7:00 pm face off at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
