Rampage Fall to Admirals 2-1

April 2, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release

MILWAUKEE - The San Antonio Rampage's (29-34-8-0) third-period rally fell short as the Milwaukee Admirals (43-21-3-2) defeated the Rampage 2-1 in front of 13,245 in the BMO Bradley Harris Center Saturday night. San Antonio's lone goal came from Borna Rendulic late in the third period, but it wasn't enough to lift the Silver and Black over Milwaukee.

Milwaukee began the scoring late in the first period when Max Reinhart netted his 21st of the season. Milwaukee's Patrick Mullen fed a loose Reinhart as he snuck one past Reto Berra to put the Admirals up 1-0.

The second period played out similar to the first as Milwaukee tallied a second goal at the 9:42 mark. Jamie Devane converted off a pass from Pontus Aberg to put the Admirals up 2-0. San Antonio was held scoreless after 40 minutes of play despite tying Milwaukee in shots on goal.

The Rampage continued to fight and came within one when Rendulic recorded his 14th of the season off a Mikko Rantanen pass. The Silver and Black's rally would ultimately fall short, and their five-game winning streak was snapped by the Admirals.

Berra finished the night with 27 saves on 29 shots, and held Milwaukee to zero power-play goals on six different opportunities with the man advantage. San Antonio finished 0-for-3 on the power play and registered 26 shots.
