San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 7, 2014) - The San Antonio Rampage (14-6-2-0) won for the ninth time in their last 11 games with a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Wolves (13-9-3-0) in front of 4,834 on Sunday evening at the AT&T Center. Shane O'Brien and Mark Mancari each tallied goals for the Rampage, and Dan Ellis finished with 31 saves on 32 shots.
The Rampage took an early 1-0 lead with O'Brien's tally coming just under three minutes into the game. With the assist, Quinton Howden registered his first point of the season after sitting out 19 games with an injury.
The Wolves countered with a Shane Harper goal on the power play. Philip McRae sent a backhand pass across the crease and Harper tapped it in at 12:29 to knot the game at one.
San Antonio retook the lead just over five minutes into the second frame with a Mark Mancari wraparound goal. The marker gave Mancari his sixth goal of the season and extended his point streak to eight games. The goal ultimately stood as the game-winner, as neither team would score in the third period.
KEY STAT
San Antonio shot 33 percent in the second period, as the game-winning goal was scored on just one of three shots in the frame. The Wolves outshot the Rampage 32-25.
