HAMILTON, Ontario - Brendan Ranford found Maxime Fortunus for the game-winner to propel the Texas Stars to a 2-1 overtime win on the road over the Hamilton Bulldogs at FirstOntario Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Fortunus buried his fourth goal of the season from the slot with just under two minutes remaining in the extra session. Anders Lindback stopped 36 shots for his first career win for the Stars.
Texas (8-7-7) returns home on Wednesday to host Oklahoma City at 7:30 p.m.
Brendan Ranford tallied the assist on Fortunus' goal as the Stars appeared in their ninth overtime game this season, second in the AHL behind Oklahoma City (10).
Scott Glennie opened up the scoring late in the first period on a rebound goal for his second of the season. Everything remained quiet until Hamilton's TJ Hensick knotted the game with 1:32 remaining in regulation to force the extra frame.
Mike Condon took the loss for Hamilton (11-10-3-0), stopping 34 Texas shots.
Radek Faksa and Brett Ritchie assisted on the Stars' first goal, a power play tally, which extended Glennie's point streak to four games. Travis Morin saw his three-game point streak end in the win.
The Stars finished 1-for-3 on the power play. Hamilton went 0-for-4.
Three Stars: 1. Maxime Fortunus (TEX) 2. Anders Lindback (TEX) 3. Mike Condon (HAM)
