Rampage Charity Skate-A-Thon Tuesday
March 14, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
Don't miss your opportunity to skate with the San Antonio Rampage as the entire team will skate with the public to benefit the Serge Payer Foundation. The two-hour skate-a-thon invites all skaters from novice to expert as players will be on hand to teach the fundamentals and help improve everyone's skating ability.
Participant's were encouraged to collect a minimum pledge of $35 and will receive skate rental, pizza, drinks, a goody bag, and the opportunity to win prizes.
The Serge Payer Foundation supports research for Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the part of the peripheral nervous system. In January of 1999, Payer was diagnosed with GBS and it temporarily paralyzed him from the waist down. Currently, there is no known cure for the disorder, but those with GBS can fully recover if the disorder is diagnosed and treated in the early stages.
WHEN: Tuesday, Mar. 15
noon - 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Ice Center at Northwoods (located at 17530 Henderson Pass; SE corner of 281 and 1604, behind the movie theater)
