
Rampage announce transactions

SAN ANTONIO â Feb. 13, 2004 â San Antonio Rampage General Manager Bobby Jay announced that the Rampage reassigned defenseman Paul Elliott to Augusta of the ECHL and that goaltender David Currie and forwards Greg Koehler and Adam Paiement were released from their professional tryout offers. In addition, Jay announced that the Florida Panthers have reassigned defenseman Kyle Rossiter and goaltender Travis Scott to San Antonio.
Elliott, 23, joined the Rampage on Jan. 19, 2004 and played in six games recording zero points. He has played in 29 games with San Antonio this season and has registered one assist and 22 penalty minutes (PIM).
Currie, 21, was recalled yesterday on an emergency basis to back up netminder Brent Krahn after Scott, 28, was recalled on an emergency basis to back up Panthers' goaltender Roberto Luongo.
Currie will return to the Johnstown Chiefs (ECHL) while Koehler, 28, will return to the Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League (UHL). The 6-foot-2, 195-pound right wing appeared in 12 games with the Rampage, recording 1-2-3 totals and 4 PIM.
Paiement, 21, joined the Rampage on Jan. 13 and played in one game, registering zero points and penalty minutes.
Rossiter, 23, joined the Panthers on Feb. 9, but did not see any action in his most recent call up. Earlier this season, Rossiter appeared in four games with the Panthers, recording no points. In nine career NHL games, he has been held without a point, while recording nine penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alberta native has 10 points (4-6-10) and 61 penalty minutes in 37 games with the San Antonio this season.
The Rampage, in the middle of a 12-game road swing, play three games in three cities in consecutive nights beginning tomorrow in Hartford, Conn., Worcester, Pa., and Syracuse, N.Y. respectively. The games will be broadcast on the Ticket 760 AM radio at 6:05, 3:05 and 6 p.m. respectively.
