LOOKING AHEAD:

When Philadelphia pays a visit to Hartford on Friday night (7:05 ET), it will mark the first game at the Civic Center since the 2000 Calder Cup Finals for Phantoms forward P.J. Stock, a fan favorite with the Wolf Pack for three seasons. Philadelphia is 11-2-1-0 in its last 14 games, and sits one point out of first place in a hard-fought East Division race. Atlantic-leading Hartford is on home ice for the first time in nearly three weeks after a 2-2-1-0 road trip, which included a 3-3 tie with the Phantoms at the Wachovia Spectrum on Jan. 30. Coming off his first AHL All-Star Game, Kirby Law has 10 points in his last five contests for Philadelphia.

A pair of struggling teams try to right the ship when Rochester hosts St. John's on Friday (7:35 ET, 9:05 NT). Both clubs have one win in their last 10 matches, and both are in danger of falling out of the North Division playoff picture, with Toronto and Manitoba in hot pursuit. The Maple Leafs won the first two meetings between the teams this season, sweeping a pair at Mile One Stadium in December on the strength of six power play goals. The Amerks' Milan Bartovic had an 11-game AHL scoring streak snapped in last weekend's 1-0 loss to Toronto.

The rivalry between Chicago and Milwaukee has heated up this season as the teams fight for positioning in the West Division. The Admirals host the Wolves in a Saturday matinee (1:30 CT), and the clubs enter the weekend among the hottest in the AHL. Milwaukee won its fourth in a row on Wednesday, knocking off Manitoba, 5-1, behind two Scottie Upshall goals. Chicago, 8-2-2-1 in its last 13 before Friday, lost four of the first five meetings this season with the Ads before taking a 4-1 decision on Dec. 26. Wolves captain Steve Maltais has scored eight goals in his last nine games to secure his 15th consecutive 20-goal season in the pro ranks.

The Corel Centre opens its doors to the AHL for the second year in a row, as Binghamton hosts Toronto on Sunday afternoon (2:05 ET). Roadrunners rookie goaltender Mike Morrison saw his personal seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1) come to an end in a 5-2 loss to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday. Charlie Stephens has picked up 13 points in eight games since joining the Senators last month. The B-Sens' trip to Ottawa was a great success last year, as they posted a 9-0 win over St. John's.
