P-Bruins sign Brian White for remainder of season

The Providence Bruins announced today that they have signed defenseman Brian White for the remainder of the season. White, now in his second year with Providence, has 2-5-7 totals and 28 PIM in 41 games this season, and leads the team with a +8 rating.

White, a 28-year-old native of Burlington, Massachusetts, is playing in his sixth professional season out of the University of Maine. He spent the first three seasons of his career in the Colorado Avalanche organization, followed by one in the Anaheim Mighty Ducks organization.

White played in two NHL games with Colorado during the 1998-99 season. He has 13-54-67 totals and 259 PIM in 390 career AHL games with Providence, Hershey and Cincinnati.

The Providence Bruins host the Worcester IceCats tonight at 7:05 p.m. They will also host the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday at 4:05 p.m., and the Norfolk Admirals on Monday at 4:05 p.m. Tonight's game will be televised live on COX 3.
