
Rampage Add Sharp And Bickel To Roster

SAN ANTONIO (December 9, 2009) - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center MacGregor Sharp and defenseman Stu Bickel to the San Antonio Rampage from the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL).
Sharp, 24, has appeared in 15 games with Bakersfield this year posting four goals and 10 assists with 48 shots on goal. He was recalled by Anaheim on Nov. 18 and made his NHL debut on Nov. 19 vs. Tampa Bay. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward played in eight games with the Ducks recording six shots on goal before being reassigned to their ECHL affiliate on Dec. 5.
A native of Red Deer, Alberta, Sharp tallied one goal and one assist in six games with the Iowa Chops (AHL) last season. Prior to joining the Chops, Sharp finished his senior year at the University of Minnesota - Duluth (UMD) with 26 goals and 24 assists in 43 games during the 2008-09 season which tied for fourth in the nation in scoring in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). Sharp also ranked second in the country in goals, tied for fourth in game-winning goals (4), and tied for ninth in power-play goals (9).
Named to the 2009 WCHA All-Tournament team and 2008-09 All-College Hockey News second team, Sharp missed only one of 158 games with UMD over four seasons. In 157 career games, Sharp scored 108 points (50 goals and 58 assists) with 19 power-play goals and 109 penalty minutes, leading the Bulldogs in scoring in 2008-09 and 2007-08.
Bickel, 23, has appeared in 22 games with Bakersfield this season, posting one goal and 11 assists. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound blueliner played in 21 games with the Iowa Chops (AHL) during the 2008-09 season, tallying one assist and 51 penalty minutes.
A native of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Bickel attended the University of Minnesota during the 2007-08 season and recorded seven points (1 goal, 6 assists) in 45 career WCHA games. Over the span of three seasons, he posted 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) and 260 penalty minutes in 84 career United States Hockey League (USHL) games split between Green Bay (2004-06) and Sioux Falls (2006-07). During the 2005-06 season, Bickel also appeared in 38 games with Southern Minnesota (NAHL), totaling eight goals and 12 assists and tacking on 115 penalty minutes.
The Rampage face off against the Grand Rapids Griffins tonight for a 6 p.m. (CDT) puck drop at Van Andel Arena.
