
Senators Assign Forward Ryan Keller To Binghamton

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 9, 2009) - The Ottawa Senators today assigned forward Ryan Keller to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
Keller, 25, made his National Hockey league debut on Nov. 25 in Ottawa's 3-1 loss at New Jersey. In four games with the Senators, he was held scoreless while averaging 6:08 in ice time per game.
Keller has played 20 games this season with Binghamton, scoring a team-high 13 goals and adding nine assists. While also leading the B-Sens in plus/minus (+15), he has recorded five game-winning goals and six multi-point games.
In 90 career AHL games with Grand Rapids, Syracuse and Binghamton, Keller has totalled 54 points (28 goals and 26 assists) and has 60 penalty minutes.
Prior to joining the Senators, Keller spent the previous two seasons playing for the Espoo Blues of the Finnish Elite League (SM-liiga). In 54 games with the Blues last season, he led the team in goals (21), assists (34) and points (55). The 5-10, 190-pound right-winger also led the Blues with 22 goals and 44 points, in addition to a team-high plus-minus rating of +22, in his first season in Finland in 2007-08.
Keller spent his entire major junior career with his hometown Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League. In four seasons, from 2001-02 to 2004-05, Keller played 257 games, registering 120 goals and 117 assists for 237 points while amassing 283 penalty minutes.
The B-Sens next game is Friday, Dec. 11 when they visit the Penguins at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
