Dogs Pile On Heat 5-1

HAMILTON ONT - The Hamilton Bulldogs scored three unanswered goals in the second period en route to a 5-1 win over the Abbotsford Heat in AHL action on Wednesday night in the Steel City.

Mikael Johansson and Grant Stevenson both potted their first of the season, while Brock Trotter added his second in the middle stanza that was dominated by the Dogs, who ripped 17 shots at a game in the second period alone.

David Desharnais and Ryan Russell added goals in the third while Riley Armstrong broke the shutout bid by Cedrick Desjardins, who turned aside 29 of 30 shots for the win.

The Heat will take on the division leaders, the Rochester Americans, in upstate New York on Friday night.
