TACOMA, Wash. -- Nick Franklin extended his season-high hitting streak to 11 games as the Tacoma Rainiers fell to the Reno Aces 7-0 at Cheney Stadium.

Franklin collected one of the Rainiers three hits after leading off the bottom of the seventh inning with a single. The infielder's 11-game hitting streak equals the one strung together by Jesus Montero as the longest recorded by a Rainiers player this season. Franklin is batting .333 (16x48) with four extra-base hits and nine RBI since June 20.

Tacoma trailed as early as the top of the third inning when Reno tallied three runs on three hits. Tony Campana's RBI triple sent the Rainiers down 1-0 before Danny Dorn doubled the deficit to two runs with a sacrifice fly one batter later. Alfredo Marte rounded out the frame with a two-out solo home run to left field.

The Aces proceeded to score four more runs through the next three innings. Ronny Cedeno lined a two-RBI double in the fourth, and the designated hitter Dorn belted a solo home run to right field in the fifth. Campana accounted for the final run of the night after delivering a two-out single that scored Mike Freeman in the sixth.

Rainiers starter Matt Palmer (1-6) was dealt the loss after surrendering seven runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings. The right-hander struck out four and walked two in his ninth turn in the Rainiers rotation this season. Relievers Lucas Lutege (2.1) and Carson Smith (1.0) combined to strike out four in 3.1 shutout innings of work out of the bullpen.

The Rainiers (39-46) host the final installment of the team's four-game set with the Reno Aces (48-39) at 7:05 p.m. tomorrow, July 3. Right-hander Jordan Pries (4-5, 3.11) is expected to start the series finale for Tacoma against Aces right-hander Charles Brewer (3-5, 7.28).
