OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City RedHawks pitcher Nick Tropeano, shortstop Gregorio Petit, and catcher Max Stassi have been named Pacific Coast League All-Stars and will participate in the 2014 Cree Triple-A All-Star Game Wednesday, July 16 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C.

The trio will account for three of the 30 players on the PCL roster that will represent the league in the 27th annual matchup against the International League All-Stars. All three of Oklahoma City's representatives were selected to the roster by the PCL office.

Tropeano, a starting pitcher from West Islip, N.Y., currently ranks third in league with a 2.38 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and .197 opponent average. He is tied for the team lead with six wins and leads the RedHawks with 87.0 innings pitched and is second with 81 strikeouts. Since 2012, Tropeano leads all Astros minor league pitchers with 377 strikeouts. Tropeano, 23, was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 draft by the Astros from Stony Brook University.

Petit has established himself as one of the better offensive shortstops in the PCL this season, batting .301 with nine home runs and 38 RBI. He ranks third on the team in both hits and RBI. During the month of June, Petit led the squad with a .370 average, tied for the team lead with five home runs, and tied for second with 18 RBI. The 29-year-old from Venezuela is on pace to set career highs in all three major offensive categories. He signed with the Astros as a minor league free agent this past offseason, and also played for the RedHawks in 2010 when the team was affiliated with the Texas Rangers.

Behind the plate, Stassi has committed one error all season and is tied for the best fielding percentage among PCL catchers. He is currently batting .237 with six home runs and 32 RBI. He is tied for the team lead in triples and is tied for third in doubles. The 23-year-old from Yuba City, Calif. made his Major League debut last season after becoming the first Astros minor league catcher since 1998 to hit at least 17 home runs at the Double-A or Triple-A level.

All three players have spent the entire season with the RedHawks. Players who are not currently on the RedHawks roster were not eligible to be selected as All-Stars.

The Triple-A All-Star Game will be broadcast live on MLB Network, the American Forces Network, and the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network at 6 p.m. Central time. The game will be carried locally on AM 1340 "The Game."

The RedHawks finish their current series in Colorado Springs tonight at 8:05 p.m. Central time. They'll return to Oklahoma City for a seven-game homestand beginning at 7:05 p.m. Friday against the Iowa Cubs. The RedHawks will celebrate Independence Day weekend with postgame fireworks following both Friday and Saturday's games. Limited tickets remain for Friday, and tickets for the other six games of the homestand are available through the box office on S. Mickey Mantle Drive, by calling (405) 218-1000, or ordering through okcredhawks.com.
