Pederson Elected to Represent PCL in 2014 Triple-A All-Star Game

Albuquerque Isotopes outfielder Joc Pederson has been elected by the fans to represent the Pacific Coast League in the 2014 Triple-A All-Star Game to be hosted at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C., on Wednesday, July 16.

Ranked as the Los Angeles Dodgers No. 1 overall prospect by Baseball America entering the season, Pederson has hit .319 with 11 doubles, three triples and 17 home runs in 74 games this year. He has also driven in 41 runs and scored 58. The 22-year-old prospect has reached base in 67 of the 74 games he's played in and leads the PCL with a .439 on-base percentage. Pederson also ranks fourth inhome runs (17), fifth in stolen bases (20), third in slugging percentage (.568), second in runs scored (58) and tied for first in walks (57)

Pederson injured his right shoulder on June 25 diving for a ball in short right center field at Iowa and is currently on the disabled list.

Pederson will join Isotopes Pitching Coach Glenn Dishman in Durham after Dishman wasnamed to the PCL Field Staff for the All-Star Game on June 19.

The International League announced its All-Star roster on Wednesday, and it included former Isotopes Ivan De Jesus, Jr. (Norfolk) and Aaron Laffey (Syracuse). New Mexico native and current Durham Bulls trainer Mike Sandoval will serve as the trainer for the IL.
