
Rain-marred game finally won by Whitecaps

MIDLAND, MI - Justin Henry had two RBI, including the game winner in the ninth inning as the Whitecaps won the completion of a suspended game, 4-3 over Great Lakes. The game was suspended due to rain in the bottom of the third inning Wednesday night with the score tied, 1-1. Play resumed on Thursday following a 58-minute rain delay. Henry tied the game, 1-1 with an RBI single for West Michigan in the top of the third. He had an RBI sac fly with one out in the top of the ninth. The winning run was scored by pinch runner Jordan Newton. Chris Carlson led off the inning with his second hit of the game and was lifted in favor of Newton. Wilton Garcia pitched the final two innings for West Michigan to earn the victory. Andrew Hess went 4.1 innings in relief but allowed the Loons to rally and tie the game twice.
