
RailCats Trade for Two Rookie Pitchers

GARY, Ind. - Manager Greg Tagert announced today that the RailCats have acquired rookie pitchers Marshall Schuler and Estevan Uriegas from Normal in the Frontier League in exchange for infielder K.C. Judge and outfielder Ernie Banks, Jr.
Schuler, 24, was in his second season with the CornBelters and has a 1-2 record with a 4.00 ERA and five saves in 15 appearances. Last season, the right-hander was 1-2 with a 1.74 ERA and 12 saves and was named No. 1 on Baseball America's "Top 10 Independent League Prospects" list. He was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 37th Round of the 2010 Draft and spent one season in their organization.
Uriegas, 22, is a true rookie left-hander who is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in four appearances covering 4 1/3 innings.
Judge was batting .242 with an RBI in 12 games for the RailCats, while Banks was acquired in a trade from Laredo on Saturday and did not appear in any games as a RailCat.
