KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats concluded the first roadtrip of the season with an 11-3 defeat at the hands of the Kansas City T-Bones in the rubber game of the series Thursday night.

Both starting pitchers started strong on a cool evening. Nolan Nicholson retired the first seven for the RailCats before Kansas City strung together four consecutive hits in the bottom of the third. Alberto Espinosa and Nick Farnsworth started with singles. Keanon Simon drove home the first run with a single to right-center, scoring Espinosa. Jimmy Mojica hit his third homer in as many nights, a three-run shot to put Kansas City up 4-0.

The T-Bones knocked in two more during the fifth, using consecutive triples from Farnsworth and Simon. Espinosa helped add to the lead with a two-run homer during a five-run sixth as Kansas City led 11-0.

Kansas City (5-2) starter Devin Anderson took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Cristian Guerrero doubled to the wall in left-center, driving home Adam Klein and Kyle Haines, who had both walked earlier in the inning. Guerrero came around when Mike Rohde singled up the middle with two outs. The RailCats mustered just three hits in the game.
