Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

In a wet night at Midway Stadium in St. Paul, it was a former teammate that did the Goldeyes in.

St. Paul Saints shortstop Adam Frost scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Saints snuck past the Goldeyes 3-2 Friday night before 4,013 fans.

The Saints leapfrog the Goldeyes for first place in the North Division by half a game with the win.

Frost, who played with the Fish in 2009, went 3-for-5 in the game and drove in St. Paul's other two runs with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. In the 10th inning, Frost singled, stole second and scored on a Justin Snyder single.

Both of Winnipeg's runs came off centre fielder Jonathan Wyatt's bat. He had an RBI double in the third inning to start the scoring in the game and an RBI single in the seventh inning to tie the game.

Goldeyes starting pitcher Chris Salamida turned in six strong innings, striking out eight and not allowing a walk.

Robert Manuel picks up the win for St. Paul, while southpaw Kevin Light gets tagged with the loss for Winnipeg.

The start of the game was delayed by nearly two hours by rain and the rain poured down on the field for much of the night.

The Goldeyes and Saints continue this three-game series Saturday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and all the action can be heard live on Sports Radio 1290.
