While he was in line for the winning decision prior to exiting the game in the eighth inning, he wound up with the no-decision in the 4-3, extra-innings victory.

His next start came at Bowie on Saturday, June 23 in the opening game of a twi-night doubleheader where Pettibone hurled a seven-inning complete game. In the second complete game of his career, the Yorba Linda, California native struck out seven and walked two while yielding one run on three hits.
