Last Week's Games

Friday, December 1st - Quad City 4 at Fort Wayne 3

The Mallards handed the Fort Wayne Komets just their second home loss of the season on Friday night at The Memorial Coliseum. Brett Pilkington scored with just 41 seconds left to give the Mallards their first lead of the night and set the final at 4-3. Don Parsons scored twice in the win and now sits just four goals away from 600 for his pro career. In the first period, the Komets took a 1-0 lead on J.C. Ruid's 13th goal of the year. Ruid took a give-and-go feed from Pascal Morency before cutting to the front of the Quad City net and scoring. A wild second period featured four goals, two fights and 55 penalty minutes. The Mallards struck first as Don Parsons scored his 595th career goal to tie the game at one. Parsons deked past Fort Wayne's Kevin St. Pierre after receiving a feed from rookie forward Brett Pilkington. The Komets retook the lead on a 4-on-4 goal by Bruce Richardson at 6:00 of the second frame. Justin Chwedoruk tied the contest with his third goal on a feed from Luke Stauffacher at 10:58. Richardson scored his second of the period at 14:06 to reclaim the Komet lead at 3-2. The Mallards scored both third period goals to earn the win. Parsons scored at 5:23 on a Mallards power play to knot the score at three. Parsons' goal set up a dramatic conclusion as Brett Pilkington scored with just 41 seconds left to secure the win. Pilkington's goal marked the fourth consecutive game that the rookie forward scored a goal.

Saturday, December 2nd - Bloomington 1 at Quad City 3

The Mallards won a third consecutive game on Saturday as they downed the Prairie Thunder 3-1 at The MARK. Justin Chwedoruk recorded a goal and an assist in the win. Chad Woollard and Nick Harloff added solo markers in the win. In the first, Woollard tipped home a Jami Yoder point shot to give the Mallards a 1-0 lead. Woollard's eighth tally of the year stood up as the lone goal of the opening frame. In the second, Alex Goupil scored to tie the game at one. Just three minutes after Goupil's marker, Chwedoruk scored what would prove to be the game winner off a goal mouth scramble. In the third, Nick Harloff added an insurance marker on a point shot that beat Bloomington's Jeff Reynaert.

Sunday, December 3rd - Elmira at Quad City

An entertaining affair netted the Mallards a regulation point in a 5-4 shootout loss to Elmira on Sunday at The MARK. Don Parsons scored twice including a game-tying goal with 54 seconds left. Zach Sikich made 42 saves in the shootout defeat. The Mallards built a 3-1 lead on first period goals by Chad Woollard, Parsons and Matt Radoslovich. Parsons' first period marker came during a 5-on-3 power-play with an extra attacker out on a delayed penalty. After the Parsons goal put the Mallards up 2-0, Elmira's David Morelli scored to slice the lead to one before Radoslovich netted his third goal in the period's closing minute. In the second, the Jackals tied the game on goals by Erik Anderson and former Mallard Yevgeny Lazarev. The Jackals took the lead for the first time on an early third period goal by Frank Littlejohn. Parsons netted his 13th goal of the season on a goalmouth scramble with just 54 seconds left to force the shootout. Parsons begins a four-game road trip just two goals shy of 600 for his career. In the shootout, the Jackals scored twice while Patrick Nadeau netted the only Mallards goal.
