Flint Generals News Release
Record for week: 2-1-0, 4 points
Record for season: 8-12-2, 18 points - 4th in Eastern Conference
Player Notes: Mike Zbriger, Gerard Miller and Jan Eriksson are tied for the team lead in scoring with 14 points...Zbriger leads the team with 11 goals while Eriksson and Jan Jas lead the team with ten assists...Tony Tuzzolino leads the team with eight points on two goals and six assists in the last five games...Tuzzolino has at least one point in four of his first five games with the Generals...Mike Kinnie has five points in his first three games this season...Bobby Reynolds has a point in five of his last six games played.
Team Notes: The Generals won back to back home games for the first time this season by beating Port Huron on Saturday and Rockford on Sunday...The Generals have fallen to fourth in the league on the power play at 15.5%, and are eighth in the league on the penalty kill at 82.2%...The Generals are out shooting their opponents in the first and third period of games this season...The Generals continue to lead the league in shots on goal against per game at 28.0.

Friday, December 1 Rockford 5 @ Flint 3
Rockford took a 2-0 lead over the Generals with a pair of two man advantage power play goals 1:22 apart midway through the first period. Jesse Bennefield scored the first goal at 9:37 and Kaleb Betts scored the second at 10:59. Mike Kinnie scored a power play goal at 15:55 of the first period to cut the Generals deficit to 2-1. Jeff Zehr and Shaun Fisher assisted on the goal. Rockford took a 3-1 lead at 3:56 of the second period on a Nicolas Corbeil goal. Jason Selleke added a power play goal at 6:37 from Terry Marchant and Bobby Reynolds to make it a 3-2 game at the end of two periods. The Generals tied the game 3-3 on Kinnie's second goal of the game at :43 of the third period. Tony Tuzzolino and Marchant assisted on the goal. Corey Hessler broke the tie for Rockford with a power play goal at 14:02 and Corbeil added an empty net goal to close the scoring at 19:49. Bryan Worosz made 26 saves on 30 shots in the loss.
Saturday, December 2 Port Huron 2 @ Flint 3 SO
The Generals scored the only first period goal to take a 1-0 lead over the Flags. Jordan Fox scored the goal at 8:17 with Martin Ondrej and Jason Selleke assisting. Port Huron tied the game 1-1 in the first minute of the second period on a Garett Cameron goal. The Generals reclaimed the lead at 6:34 of the second period on a Terry Marchant shorthanded goal from Bobby Reynolds and Tyson Turgeon. The Flags tied the game 2-2 with a Chris Bogas power play goal at 7:57. There was no scoring in the third period and the game went to a shootout tied 2-2. Jason Muzzatti stopped all five Port Huron shooters and the Generals Shaun Fisher scored the only Flint goal to give the Generals the 3-2 win. Muzzatti made 15 saves on 17 shots for the win.
Sunday, December 3 Rockford 3 @ Flint 4
In this game, which was rescheduled from October 25, the Icehogs took a 1-0 lead at 4:23 of the first period on a Mike Doyle power play goal. The Generals tied the game at 6:00 on a Tony Tuzzolino goal and took the lead at 13:20 on a Mike Kinnie goal. The Generals went up 3-1 at 1:20 of the second period on a Jeff Zehr goal. Rockford scored two second period goals to tie the game 3-3. Kevin Ulanski scored the first goal at 3:49 and Preston Mizzi scored the second at 6:44. Flint scored the only third period goal to take a 4-3 lead. Kinnie scored his second of the game at 13:18 from Jeff Zehr and Mike Zbriger. Jason Muzzatti made 27 saves on 30 shots for the win.
PREVIEW OF UPCOMING GENERALS GAMES December 4-December 10
Wednesday, December 6 Flint @ Chicago 8:30p.m.
This will be the first game of the season for the Generals in Chicago. It is a rescheduled game from Friday, November 3 when the game was cancelled. It will be the second meeting of the season between these two teams. Chicago beat the Generals 5-0 on October 20 in Flint.
Friday, December 8 Muskegon @ Flint 7:30p.m.
The Generals host Muskegon for the third time this season and face the Fury for the fifth time. The Generals are 0-2-0 at home against the Fury, 1-3-0 overall. The Generals handed the Fury their first home loss of the season in the last meeting on Thanksgiving, winning 3-2.
Saturday, December 9 Flint @ Kalamazoo 7:30p.m.
The Generals travel to Kalamazoo for the third time this season. Flint is 1-1-0 at Kalamazoo this season and 1-2-0 overall against the Wings. Kalamazoo won the last meeting 4-3 on November 25 in Flint.
Sunday, December 10 Bloomington @ Flint 4:00p.m.
This will be the second game of the season between Bloomington and Flint. The Generals won the first meeting 3-1 on November 24 in Flint. The Generals play their first game in Bloomington on Tuesday, December 26.
Generals Player of the Week:
The Generals Player of the Week is Mike Kinnie. In his first three games with the Generals, Kinnie had five points on four goals and one assist. He had two goals on Friday against Rockford and two goals, including the game winning goal and one assist on Sunday against Rockford. He also played at a +3 rating for the week.
Generals Goaltender of the Week:
The Generals Goaltender of the Week is Jason Muzzatti. Muzzatti went 2-0-0 in two games played last week. He made 15 saves on 17 shots in a shootout win over Port Huron on Saturday. Muzzatti also stopped all five Flags shooters in the shootout. On Sunday he made 27 saves on 30 shots in a 4-3 win over Rockford. Muzzatti made 42 saves on 47 shots for an .894 save percentage. His goals against average for the week was 2.50.
