Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
The biggest baseball event of the summer is the Major League All-Star Game. This year, the River Bandits are proud to announce that on Wednesday, August 12, the annual Iowa-Illinois Senior All-Star Classic will be played for the first time at Modern Woodmen Park! Best of all, the Bandits' share of the ticket proceeds go to charity!
This game features the area's best graduating seniors, as talent from both sides of Mississippi River will converge at the home of the River Bandits to compete in a doubleheader for state bragging rights!
Between the Pepsi Kids Camp, the Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competitions, and the numerous high school games that take place at Modern Woodmen Park every year, the River Bandits have ensured that Quad City Area youth who wish to hone their baseball talents can do so at Modern Woodmen Park. But this game -- a bi-state double-header -- promises to be the biggest of all!
The first game starts at 5:00 p.m. and the twin bill will consist of two seven-inning contests, with a portion of the $5 general admission ticket will benefit the Keith Lucier Memorial Scholarship.
The ballpark's giant video board and 80-foot long ribbon board will both be utilized throughout the game to enhance the experience for attendees. Concessions will be available throughout the event as well, featuring the same great quality and affordable prices that you have come to expect at Modern Woodmen Park.
This Wednesday, come enjoy the top showcase of high school baseball talent in the Quad Cities in what promises to be a must-see annual event!
