Public Skate with the Checkers Set for November 3 at Extreme Ice Center

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - As part of their daily community service program "15 Days of Giving", the Charlotte Checkers will hold a public skate with several players at Extreme Ice Center on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The cost of the skate will be $5 with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Special Olympics North Carolina. Skate rentals will be available at Extreme Ice Center, with proceeds benefiting athletes Rory Kinane and Katie Carter, who will participate in the Special Olympics World Games in South Korea from Jan. 29 - Feb. 5, 2013.

The Checkers continue their nine-game, season-opening road trip tonight in Grand Rapids (7 p.m. ET - ESPN730.com) and will return to Charlotte for the home opener on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com and the Time Warner Cable Arena box office.
